Reports come in a wide variety of formats; virtually every school has its own. They are usually termly, sometimes 2 or 4 times a year.

You should receive a report for each taught subject - increasingly there are separate grades for effort and for attainment − and maybe predicted grades in public examinations. In addition, there will probably be comment from the subject teachers; and over-arching comments from the form tutor, housemaster/mistress or head of the year group, plus the Head or Deputy Head. Some schools provide commodious reports in which there is much detail.
